What were your goals when you were designing the LCD Cabinet?

The LCD Cabinet was designed with a few basic principles in mind:

  • Unique, Contemporary Style.
  • Operation so smooth, you'll want to push the open and close button as much as you'll want to watch your television.
  • Strength, Durability and Safety.
  • Ease of assembly and installation.

Operating Your LCD Cabinet

How do I operate my LCD Cabinet?

Operation is pretty simple. Your LCD Cabinet comes with an infrared remote with three buttons: Open, Close and Stop. The stop button is used for calibration and for emergency stops.

Will my LCD Cabinet require assembly?

Yes, your LCD Cabinet will require minimal assembly.

Will assembly of my LCD Cabinet be difficult?

Your LCD Cabinet has been designed specifically with ease of assembly and installation as one of the main goals. There are very few steps to assembling and installing your LCD Cabinet. In fact, the only reason your LCD Cabinet does not arrive fully assembled is to make shipping more economical and low impact on the cabinet itself. The few simple steps required to assemble your LCD Cabinet insure that your cabinet will operate precisely as it was intended for years to come.

  • Measure and attach the wood cleats to the wall.
  • Using the wood cleats, mount the back portion of the cabinet on the wall.
  • Attach the doors.
  • Calibrate the cabinet.

...and you're done! Your LCD Cabinet will include detailed installation instructions.

Can I install my LCD Cabinet myself?

Of course, we recommend your LCD Cabinet be installed by a qualified carpenter, however if you feel you are up to the task, and you are confident of your abilities in properly using a few basic tools, our installation guide will walk you through the process in a few simple steps.

Installation Requirements/Preparation

What sort of preparation is required to get ready to install my LCD Cabinet?

You will need an electrical wall outlet with at least 2 plugs behind the cabinet. One plug is for the cabinet, and the other is for your television. Any audio/video cables will need to also be run to a location on the wall behind the cabinet.

Television Installation

How do I mount my television inside my LCD Cabinet?

We recommend you use our Low Profile Wall Mount which is included with your cabinet. They are strong, easy to use, and take up very little space behind your TV.

Shipping

What method of shipping do you use?

We ship by UPS ground.

How will my LCD Cabinet be packaged?

Your LCD Cabinet will be delivered in three boxes.

Why three boxes?

This insures that the weight is low enough to keep shipping economical, and it also helps to protect your cabinet from damage during the shipping process.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery times vary depending on your location, but generally delivery takes 2-7 business days.

Can you deliver to residential addresses?

Yes, UPS will deliver to residential addresses.

LCD Cabinet Size/Dimensions

How big is my LCD Cabinet?

The outside dimensions of your LCD Cabinet are approximately 53"x44"x9-5/8". The inside dimensions are approximately 44"x30"x5-1/2". There are drawings on our order page.

How big a television can I fit inside my LCD Cabinet?

Your LCD Cabinet has been designed to fit most 42” flat panel televisions. The interior cavity dimensions are 44”x30”x5-1/2”. This allows for approximately 1 to 1-1/2" of clearance around your plasma of LCD TV. Please measure your television before ordering to insure your television will fit inside the TV Cabinet.

What if I want a bigger or smaller television inside? Do you do custom sizes?

We can build anything. If your demands require a different size or material, we'd be happy to discuss customizing options with you. In fact, we welcome a challenge!

Materials & Construction

What kind of wood do you use to build my LCD Cabinet?

Your LCD Cabinet will be built out of a combination of solid birch plywood and solid birch. Hardwood birch has a uniform grain pattern that holds a stain well. If you are interested in other materials, please contact us for your customizing needs.

What kind of hardware does my LCD Cabinet use?

Your LCD Cabinet uses our patent pending track system which has been specifically designed with smooth, quiet operation and high strength and durability in mind. Your cabinet will operate smoothly for many years to come.

Will I be able to see any hardware?

No, your LCD Cabinet has been designed specifically to conceal any hardware from view at all times.

Remote Controls

What kind of remote control will my LCD Cabinet have?

Your LCD Cabinet will include a compact, sleek, infrared remote.

Can I program my own remote to operate my LCD Cabinet?

Yes. Your LCD Cabinet remote uses industry standard NEC protocol code. Most high quality, programmable remotes should be capable of being programmed to operate your LCD Cabinet.

Cords & Electronics

Where do my LCD Cabinet's cords go?

In addition to the space between the television and the TV cabinet, there is a 3/4” cavity behind your LCD Cabinet for concealing the cords.

How does the plug fit back there?

Your LCD Cabinet's electrical cord is equipped with a low profile 1/2” plug designed to fit in the back cavity.

What about my television cords?

Most flat panel televisions use the same adapter cords. We include two low profile adapter power cords with every LCD Cabinet that work with most flat panel televisions. If these will not work, you may need to drill an additional hole in the back of your LCD Cabinet to accommodate your cords. For optimal appearance, make sure to drill the hole in a location that will be concealed by your television once mounted.

Safety Features

What kind of safety features are included with my LCD Cabinet?

Safety was a major concern for us as we designed the LCD Cabinet, and we have integrated several safety features:

  • Low Voltage Electronics - All internal electronics used in your LCD Cabinet are low voltage for your safety.
  • Obstruction Sensing - In the event that an object obstructs the movement of the doors, the doors will stop.
  • Stop button - Your remote control is equipped with a stop button in case you need to stop the movement of the doors suddenly for any reason.

Warranty

Does my LCD Cabinet include a warranty?

Yes, your LCD Cabinet includes a comprehensive 1-year warranty against manufacturers defects.

Can I purchase an extended warranty?

We do not currently offer an extended warranty plan, but we will be adding one soon.

What does my warranty cover?

Your warranty will cover any manufacturing defects. If you run into any problems, we will ship out replacement parts at no cost to you. Your warranty does not cover any damage due to faulty installation. You are responsible for installing your cabinet in a manner such that it will support the cabinet's full weight, including attaching directly to adequately sized studs and/or adding any structural backing necessary. We recommend a fully qualified carpenter install the TV cabinet.
